Emperor Charles V
Charles was born in the year 1500, and by the age od 19 he was the richest most powerful person of his time. The majority of his empire was passed down to him by family. In 1516 Charles' father passed away and left him with The Netherlands, Luxembourg, Artois, and Franch Comte or Free Country of Burgundy. Three years later, in 1519, Charles lost his grandfather, who left him with Hapsburg Lands in Austria.
Charles V opposed Luther at the Diet of Worms, but he never really took action. Charles V was preoccupied by his battles to realize that Protestantism had spread across his empire. Although he strongly disagreed with Martin Luther and his teachings, he never made an act to stop him.
