Pope Leo X
Pope Leo X was born as Giovanni de Medici on December 11, 1475 in Florence, Italy. He was one of the leading Renaissance popes, who reigned from 1513 to 1521. Over time Pope Leo X made Rome a cultural center and a political power. However he depleted the papal treasury by not caring about the reformation, and he contributed to the dissolution of the western church. In 1521 he was the man who excommunicate Martin Luther.
